SOPHYTO researched standards worldwide for organic health and beauty care and elected to take up the challenge set by the greatly respected UK Soil Association, whose stringent principles are recognized for being technically the most robust globally, when compared to other certifying organizations such as Ecocert. The main areas of concern with Ecocert were;
- their standards permit added water in the overall calculation of organic content of water based organic ingredients
- supposedly ‘organic’ products can contain unbelievably low percentages of organic ingredients, sometimes as low as 40% and under
- their standards permit the use of essential oils from endangered species
The Company strongly feels their decision to license with the stricter version laid down by Soil Association provides their customers with a far superior organic product containing maximum levels of agricultural ingredients from sustainable sources.  Environmentally friendly ingredients that biodegrade in water, air and soil
All SOPHYTO products are carbon balanced

 All waste generated is biodegradable (including paper and cardboard) and is taken to a special recycling facility where composting takes place within enclosed 'clamps' and oxygen levels and temperature can be monitored and managed to ensure wastes are sanitized and odors contained. All material is composted to meet BSI PAS 100 specification. The end result...a compost product which is used as a soil improver, top dressing, or is blended with soils for use in agricultural, or restoration projects.
