The small percentage of safe synthetics Sophyto use are approved by the UK Soil Association. The UK organic standards organization who certify Sophyto's formulas permit their use in organic products (Section 50.3.16) as does the new EU organic standard COSMOS. (App V) Requirements for toxicity and biodegradeability (Section 50.5.8) states one must be able to demonstrate that each chemically processed ingredient meets all of the following requirements:

aquatic toxicity – the EC50 and LC50 for algae, crustaceans and fish must be at least 1mg/kg
aerobic bio-degradability – must be ‘easily degradable’, as defined in OECD document 301A-F
anaerobic bio-degradability – must be ‘easily degradable’ as defined in ISO 11734
bio-accumulation – the log Pow value must be no more than 3.

Carrot Root Extract

• Organic carrot root extracted in cold pressed organic sunflower oil.
• Helps to revitalize and boost the appearance of tired, stressed skin. Effective for aging and sun damaged skin conditions.

Cetearyl Alcohol
Cetearyl alcohol
• A mixture of cetyl and stearyl alcohols that are derived from GMO free sourced vegetable fatty acids. An emulsifying agent for creams and lotions
• Has emollient properties aiding skin softness
• Permitted in organic cosmetics by organic certification agencies.

Chlorella Vulgaris Extract
Chlorella vulgaris
• A fresh water algae, organically farmed. The extract is made from broken cell wall dried algae.
• Used for its natural chelating properties and high protein content. Chlorella contains 19 to 22 essential and non-essential amino acids and a respectable amount of vitamins. It’s beneficial properties help purify and energize the skin.

• An alpha hydroxy acid found naturally in citrus fruits
• Used in Sophtyo's products at very low levels to regulate acidity to match the natural ph of the skin.
• Permitted food ingredient by organic certification agencies.

Coco Glucoside

• A detergent from the chemical group alkyl polyglucosides produced from coconut, palm and other plant sources all GMO free. Contains no petrochemical derivatives.
• Sophyto has chosen this cleansing agent as it is from a sustainable plant source and not derived from petrochemicals. As with all detergents in a concentrated form, it would be irritating to the skin, hence we use it at very low concentrations to produce a mild cleansing action.
• Approved for use in organic cosmetic by organic certification agencies.

Coenzyme- Q10

• Produced by GM free yeast fermentation. Free from any petrochemical derivatives. Commonly used as a food supplement
• This powerful active, found in all living cells, is essential for cell metabolism. It has been extensively studied establishing its safety and beneficial properties both as a supplement and when applied topically. Known for its powerful antioxidant properties along with its role in cell energy, it has been reported in clinical studies to reduce the depth of wrinkles and accelerate collagen production thereby gaining the name of an anti-aging active. Sophyto use an all natural, high purity form produced by yeast fermentation (synthetic sources have been found to contain impurities) which produces a co-Q10 identical to what is naturally produced in the body.

• Is the only available carrier oil with a natural ratio of Omega 6 (linoleic), Omega 3 (alpha-linolenic), and Omega 9(oleic) fatty acids
